Job Title: Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN)**

Job Summary:

A Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized, compassionate care to infants, children, and adolescents, addressing their unique physical, emotional, and developmental needs. Pediatric RNs work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, outpatient care centers, and homes, delivering care that focuses on prevention, treatment, and recovery for young patients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for pediatric patients.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions specific to pediatric patients, ensuring safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Monitor vital signs, growth patterns, and developmental milestones, identifying any potential health concerns.
  • Collaborate with pediatricians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure continuity of treatment.
  • Educate patients and their families on pediatric health conditions, treatment plans, and strategies for managing care at home.
  • Provide emotional support to pediatric patients and their families, helping to alleviate anxiety and promote a positive healthcare experience.
  • Monitor and respond to acute and chronic medical conditions, ensuring timely interventions and appropriate care.
  • Maintain accurate, thorough documentation of patient assessments, care plans, and outcomes.
  • Administer immunizations, perform screenings, and provide health education on wellness, growth, and development.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and professional development to maintain expertise in pediatric care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advocate for patient needs and provide family-centered care.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
  • Licensure:
    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Certification:
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in pediatric nursing
