Job Summary:

A Pharmacy Technician supports licensed pharmacists in the preparation, distribution, and administration of medications. They perform a variety of tasks related to the management of medication supplies, assist with patient care, and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations. Pharmacy Technicians play a vital role in maintaining the efficiency of pharmacy operations and ensuring patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

    n

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare, dispense, and distribute medications, including counting, labeling, and packaging medications.
  • n

  • Assist pharmacists with the preparation of compounded medications, sterile products, and IV solutions.
  • n

  • Maintain accurate patient medication records and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals.
  • n

  • Retrieve and organize medication supplies and inventory, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and documentation.
  • n

  • Assist in the procurement, stocking, and ordering of medications and supplies.
  • n

  • Prepare and process insurance claims, verifying patient information and billing details.
  • n

  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards, including safety and sanitation procedures.
  • n

  • Answer patient questions and provide medication information under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • n

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment, adhering to infection control practices.
  • n

  • Participate in inventory management and restocking of pharmacy supplies.
  • n

  • Assist pharmacists with data entry, prescription filling, and processing.
  • n

  • Provide support to healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, regarding medication information.
  • n

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling patient information and pharmacy operations.
  • n

  • Assist with administrative duties, including scheduling, filing, and managing pharmacy records.

Qualifications:

  • Education:n

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • n

    • Completion of a pharmacy technician program or certification preferred.
