Job Title: Clinical Research Registered Nurse (RN)**

Job Summary:

A Clinical Research Registered Nurse (RN) supports clinical research studies by coordinating and delivering specialized care, ensuring the safety and well-being of research participants, and ensuring compliance with study protocols. Clinical Research RNs work closely with investigators, research teams, and other healthcare professionals to manage the collection of data, monitor patient outcomes, and contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge and treatments through clinical trials.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with research investigators and teams to implement and monitor clinical research protocols.
  • Recruit, screen, and enroll research participants according to study guidelines and criteria.
  • Conduct and monitor participant assessments, including vital signs, physical exams, and laboratory tests.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by the research protocol.
  • Collect, document, and analyze data related to study participants, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Educate participants and their families about study procedures, risks, and expected outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient progress, adverse events, and study-related activities.
  • Monitor patient safety, identifying and reporting adverse events or deviations from protocol.
  • Ensure compliance with Institutional Review Board (IRB) guidelines, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and participate in data collection, follow-up visits, and laboratory processing.
  • Provide clinical expertise and support to the research team for protocol development, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as pharmacy, laboratory, and regulatory affairs, to ensure efficient research operations.
  • Assist with regulatory reporting, audits, and quality control measures related to research activities.
  • Educate research participants and healthcare professionals on clinical research objectives, protocols, and outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Licensure:
    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Certification:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
    • Clinical Research Certification (e.g., CCRC or CCRN) preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in clinical research
