Job Summary:
A RN House Supervisor is a registered nurse who provides leadership and oversight of clinical operations and patient care in a healthcare facility, ensuring smooth daily operations, staff coordination, and efficient patient care delivery. The RN House Supervisor is responsible for maintaining high-quality care standards, ensuring patient safety, and serving as a resource for staff, patients, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the nursing staff and the overall facility, ensuring efficient patient care and appropriate resource allocation.
- Serve as a leader and clinical resource for nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and policies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient care continuity, addressing any clinical, administrative, or operational issues.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and make real-time adjustments based on patient needs and unit requirements.
- Monitor patient care activities, including assessing patients, reviewing care plans, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Respond to clinical emergencies, assess situations, and provide appropriate guidance, interventions, or escalate to higher levels of care as needed.
- Assist in staff development and orientation, providing mentorship and feedback to nursing staff regarding performance, policies, and best practices.
- Coordinate with department managers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth communication, patient flow, and resolution of issues.
- Address complaints, concerns, or inquiries from patients, families, and staff, ensuring a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ensure the facility is compliant with regulatory and accreditation requirements, including monitoring documentation and reporting any discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports on operational activities, staff performance, and patient outcomes.
- Support and enforce infection control protocols and safety standards to prevent risks to patients and staff.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
- Licensure:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Certification:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
